Save 20% on the brilliant Google Pixel 4a 5G
Google’s Pixel 4a 5G is a damned fine phone. It’s so fine, in fact, that it actually upstages the Pixel 5 by offering an experience which is nearly as good for £100 less money. That’s at normal prices, but thanks to a sale at both Amazon and the Carphone Warehouse , you can now get an even bigger bargain. That’s right, it’s down £100 to £399, making it just £50 more than the regular Pixel 4a. You may think you’d rather save the money and get the regular Pixel 4a at full price, but despite the name, the 5G version improves on its cheaper sibling in a number of key ways. It obviously adds 5G first and foremost, but it also includes a larger screen (6.2in vs 5.81in), a bigger battery (3,885mAh vs 3,140mAh) and has space for a secondary 16MP ultra-wide angle camera. It also comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC as a minor but welcome improvement. Normally, Google expects you to pay an extra £150 for all of these improvements, but thanks to this price cut, you can get them all for just £50 more. At that price, it’s a stone-cold bargain. I’ve always had a soft spot for Google’s Pixel phones. Yes the camera performance is superb and you get a nice clean installation of Android that’s first in line for updates, but it’s more than that. Somehow, the phones always feel like they add up to more than the sum of their parts. As our Mobile Technology editor Nathan Spendelow wrote in his review: “Google has somehow stumbled on the secret ingredient when it comes to offering high-level features at the fraction of the cost of pricey flagships.” And now it’s 20% cheaper than usual. If you were on the fence before, now is the time to buy. Buy now from Amazon
